Editorial - Incumbents deserve another term on the Dickinson School Board
Simply stated, the two incumbents running for re-election to the Dickinson Public School Board have been students of their positions, dedicating themselves to making the best possible decisions for the district’s students, faculty, staff and taxpayers.
Kris Fehr and Leslie Ross take their huge responsibilities on the school board very seriously, especially in these days of No Child Left Behind, never-ending technology changes, testing requirements and ongoing outcries about rising property taxes.
Fehr is the veteran of the two incumbents, first being elected to the board in 2001. Ross is the youngster on the current board, first being elected in 2004.
These two women put in the time necessary to professionally and responsibly address the variety of issues the board faces. Their thoughtful and direct manner of conducting business and expressing themselves is welcomed as the board works to meet the needs of the school district.
Challenger Tom Dietz is an admirable entrant in this year’s school board race, but the experience and insight that Fehr and Ross literally bring to the table is too hard to overlook.
We wholeheartedly encourage you to re-elect Kris Fehr and Leslie Ross to the Dickinson Public School Board when you go to the polls on June 10.
