Another business reports burglary

DICKINSON - The Dickinson Police Department reported Thursday morning that another Dickinson business was burglarized.
According to the police report, Hoerner Accounting PC called authorities at about 3 p.m. on Wednesday after they discovered the business had been burglarized.
Investigator Chris Coates said he believes the burglary took place in the late hours of May 23, or in the early hours of May 24.
“There was a cash box that had been gone through,” Coates said. “It was mostly filled with receipts.”
If any cash had been taken, Coates said it was only a couple of dollars.
He added that it appears entrance was gained through the back door of the business.
“The alley entrance door was forced open,” Coates said.
He said it took several days for the business to realize that it had been burglarized.
“They just thought it was the boss going through the cash box,” Coates said. “It didn’t dawn on them until later on that there were burglaries over the weekend.”
The incident is probably connected to the four other burglaries that took place over this past weekend, Coates said.
Kelsey’s Kitchen, Dakota Tool and Machine, Western Agency and Apollonia Dental Clinic were all burglarized over the weekend.
There was also an attempted break in reported at Queen City Upholstery, which is also believed to be connected to the rash of burglaries that occurred last weekend.
Coates said no arrests have been made for any of these incidents and all remain under investigation.
