Here we go again. You can sure tell when it’s time when the legislators are getting ready to meet.
The Legislative Compensation Commission is proposing giving lawmakers a pay raise. First, it should be up to the taxpayer whose money it is, to give any raises of any kind.
While in session, they get about $1,000 a week, plus mileage, housing and all the other perks the lobbyists provide for them. I don’t know many people getting this kind of wages. If they are unhappy with it, the answer is simple – do not run.
There are plenty that would, and sure would for less pay. Why doesn’t someone ever worry about the poor taxpayers footing all these bills? With our costs and the economy the way it is, stop and think about the poor taxpayers and not the people making $1,000 a week.
It would be nice if we could give ourselves a wage raise when desired. I have never ever heard of any system like that.
