Siding damaged
A water utility employee found siding on the wastewater lift station on Sims damaged, according to a police report.
Skip Rapp, Dickinson public works manager, said Thursday that two rows of siding on the building were damaged, though it is unclear when the incident happened.
“Somebody backed into the corner of the building,” Rapp said.
He added a small section of siding was damaged but because of the type of siding, it’s going to cost about $7,000 to repair.
“It’s a maintenance free siding and they don’t make it anymore, so we can’t match it, so we’re going to have to basically replace the siding on the entire building,” Rapp said. “Whatever our insurance company doesn’t cover, it comes out of our utility fund.”
“They may not even know that they hit it,” Rapp said, adding it wouldn’t have taken much to break the corner of the siding.
