Dustin Miles Besler, 27, who is a high risk registered sex offender, recently moved to Dickinson.
Investigator Amanda McNamee from the Dickinson Police Department said Besler is residing at 124 Fourth Ave. E.
He is 6-foot-1-inches tall, weighs 190 pounds, has blue eyes, brown hair and fair skin, according to the North Dakota Sex Offender Web site www.sex
McNamee said Besler was convicted in 2000 of having sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old female in Stark County.
“Besler is not wanted by the police at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court,” McNamee said, adding the information provided is not intended to increase fear in the community. “It is the belief of the Dickinson Police Department that an informed public is a safer public.”
Those who attempt to harass, intimidate, or threaten sex offenders or their families, landlords, or employers will be prosecuted, according to the Web site.
“The Dickinson Police Department does not have control over where Besler chooses to reside, work, socialize or go to school, unless the court has deemed it necessary to place restrictions on the offenders’ movements,” McNamee said.
Three other high risk sex offenders also reside in Dickinson, according to the Web site.
