NDSU president gets extra security
North Dakota State University campus police have increased security to protect the school's president.
North Dakota State University campus police have increased security to protect the school's president.
NDSU police Capt. Scott Magnuson now accompanies President Joseph Chapman to school events.
Chapman says he did not request the extra security but it's needed. He says there have been some "very concerning incidents."
In one case, someone who was agitated about a student-related issue barged into the president's home while the family was home.
Ray Boyer, director of NDSU Police and Safety, said he created the position as part of NDSU's overall effort to boost campus security
