Eagle survey scrubbed due to weather

BISMARCK(AP) — The state Game and Fish Department says an annual survey of eagles has been cancelled because of weather.

Biologist Patrick Isakson says it’s the first time in the 23-year history of the count that it’s been cancelled.

The survey is taken each year along the Missouri River, from Bismarck to the Garrison Dam. It was slated for this month.

Last year, biologists say they counted a record 85 bald eagles during the survey.

Similar surveys are taken in other state’s each year.
