Bottineau couldn’t go end-to-end in the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association’s Class B girls basketball poll.

After being ranked No. 1 for nine weeks, the Stars fell to No. 2 in the final poll of the season Monday, paving the way for unbeaten Hazen to take over the top spot.

At 19-0, the Bison are the only unbeaten team left in Class B and jumped ahead of Bottineau after it was upset by Kenmare last week. Kenmare (16-2) wasn’t rated last week but entered the poll at No. 8 on Monday.

Hazen received eight first-place votes while Bottineau (17-1) received two.

The Bison were the only Region 7 team ranked in the poll. Beach (14-2) once again received votes.
