WILLISTON — The Links of North Dakota golf course southeast of Williston has hired the manager at the Sidney Country Club in Montana to oversee day-to-day operations.
Ownership spokesman Dave McAdoo says Jay Frank not only understands golf promotion, but also is a person who understands the area. He will continue to hold his position in Sidney.
McAdoo says the course known as Red Mike has hired pros from all over the country and they’ve done OK, but they haven’t understand the community.
One of the members of the group that bought the course in 2002 is from Sidney.
The course currently partners with Bully Pulpit Golf Course near Medora and the Hawk Tree Golf Course north of Bismarck to offer the “Triple Play,” in which golfers receive a discounted greens fee. Frank says that’s a good start to promoting Red Mike.
The Links of North Dakota has been ranked among the top 100 public courses by Golf Digest.
