House OKs sales tax exemption for clothes

BISMARCK - The House approved a sales tax exemption for clothes today.

BISMARCK - The House approved a sales tax exemption for clothes today. The vote was 66-26. Representatives from Bismarck and Fargo spoke against the bill, saying it will hurt the collection of city sales taxes and that will lead to higher property taxes to make up for it.

The bill now goes to the Senate.
