MANDAN (AP) — Bond has been set at $100,000 cash for a man shot in the shoulder during a standoff in Hebron.

George Fischer faces charges of assault on a peace officer and terrorizing.

Authorities say the 52-year-old Fischer made threats and assaulted a deputy after he was told his water service might be disconnected because of an unpaid bill.

Authorities say a SWAT team member shot Fischer, who had a rifle, in the shoulder early Wednesday. The standoff lasted more than eight hours at his Hebron home.

The SWAT team member’s name has not been released.

Morton County Sheriff Dave Shipman says Fischer was taken from the hospital to jail Thursday.
