NDDOT to close portion of I94

Interstate 94 from Jamestown to Fargo will close at 7 tonight.

Interstate 94 from Jamestown to Fargo will close at 7 tonight.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation in coordination with the Highway Patrol, will close the road due to blowing and drifting snow and zero visibility. It will remain closed tonight through Tuesday morning at which time Interstate conditions will be re-evaluated.

Motorists should be advised that snow plow operators will continue working until early evening and will resume operations early tomorrow morning, according to a press release.

A no travel advisory is also in effect for portions of central and eastern North Dakota which includes highways in the Napoleon, Jamestown, Edgeley, Ellendale Cooperstown, Valley City, Casselton, Fargo, Hillsboro and the Mayville areas. This includes I-29 from Fargo to Buxton.

Heavy snow with blowing snow is reducing visibility and causing areas of compacted snow and ice-covered roads. These conditions are creating hazardous driving conditions, according to the release.
