GLENDIVE, Mont. — Dickinson senior Dakota Wolf took first place in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5 minutes, 19 seconds on Friday at the 59th annual Glendive Elks Meet.

The two-day meet saw just four events finish after the first day, which was spent running preliminaries for today’s finals. Wolf finished two spots in front of teammate Ally Hoffman in the 1,600. Hoffman ran a season-best 5:32. Wolf also helped the 400-meter relay ran the fastest prelim time of 51.6.

Also placing in events that finished out during Day 1 was Jess Herauf, whose throw of 111 feet, 2 inches was good enough for third place.

Amity Lantz enters today’s action in the finals in both the 100 and 200 while Brie Lynch is in the finals for the 100 and 400. Herauf ran the fastest 400 prelim time to make the finals and Leslie Beaudoin will also participate in the 200 finals.

“We had good performances … all four of our girls that ran the mile had their best times of the year,” Dickinson co-coach Jay Schobinger said. “That was nice to see.”
