Dickinson dealt first conference loss

Dan Bihrle threw 5Zc innings of a two-hit shutout to help the Patriots defeat the Midgets 2-0 on Friday in a West Region baseball game.
The Patriots took the sweep by winning the nonconference portion of the doubleheader 11-8.
Carson Wentz drove in the Patriots’ only two Game 1 runs in the fourth inning.
Hunter Johnson came in to close out the game in the sixth inning and struck out three while allowing no hits for the save.
Eric Seiler pitched a complete game four-hitter and took the loss for the Midgets, who dropped to 10-4 overall and 8-1 in the West.
Century built an 11-3 lead after three innings in the second game, forcing the Midgets to play catch-up.
Cole Frenzel hit his third homer of the season and Tommy Peters drove in four runs and went 2-for-3 with a triple.
Justin Ledger pitched three innings and got the win for Century. Tim Rocha took the loss for Dickinson.
