Atkins to run on national TV Saturday
Former Dickinson State sprinter Derrick Atkins is running on national television Saturday at the Adidas Track Classic in Carson, Calif. ESPN2 is televising the event, which begins at 6 p.m.

Atkins, a Nassau, Bahamas, native is running in the 100-meter dash. He won the race in 2007 with a time of 9.98 seconds.
The meet is considered Atkins’ official season opener even though he ran a 10.17 to win the Brutus Hamilton Invitational on April 25 at a meet in Berkeley, Calif.
