Letter: Cap and Trade Bill nothing but a hoax

As you should know by now, the U.S. House passed HR 2454, the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. Better known as the Cap and Trade Bill.

This disastrous and dangerous bill is truly a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It supposedly addresses the problem of man-made global warming which is one of the biggest hoaxes ever conceived. Another one is greenhouse gases supposedly by cows passing gas. Still another is carbon dioxide that is emitted into the atmosphere. Every living thing inhales oxygen and exhales carbon dioxide, otherwise we couldn’t exist. Next they will tell us that we need more abortions and use euthanasia to cut down the population so there are less of us exhaling carbon dioxide.

It is also supposed to reduce our dependence on foreign oil by blending more ethanol into gasoline. Another big hoax. The truth is ethanol cannot be produced without huge government subsidy. No matter what they say, it takes 1.29 gallons of fossil fuel to produce 1 gallon of corn based ethanol (Source: “The Really Inconvenient Truths” by Iain Murray).

Some try to get around it by using coal instead. How dumb do they think people are? Ethanol is a pollutant, cuts down on mileage and can destroy an engine. Just follow the trail of government money! Just think of how much less oil we would need to import if we quit making ethanol.

Cap and Trade is all about power and control and excessive taxation only! The looney liberal mind is only interested in controlling the rest of us that don’t think the way they do. Liberalism is a mental disorder! They are sick, sick, sick! It really isn’t taxation it is confiscation instead…to redistribute the wealth. It is socialistic communism. All of the hoopla for supporting Cap and Trade is male bovine excretion! Can’t people see Barrack Obama for what he is? Think about it!

Contact senators Dorgan and Conrad. Tell them to vote a resounding no on Cap and Trade.

Ralph Muecke, Gladstone
