Graduates from Trinity High School will make an appearance in Dickinson this weekend, as the classes of 1969, 1979, 1989 and 1999 reunite.

Sharon Olheiser, who helps organizer the class of 1969’s gathering, said about 50 out of 118 classmates will be in town celebrating their 40-year reunion.

“We’ve had a reunion every 10 years here in Dickinson,” Olheiser said. “It’s definitely a team effort getting this together.”

Olheiser said Trinity was able to offer her a roster of students and from there used search engines such as Whitepages.com in order to find fellow classmates.

“We have a committee of about 10 to 12 people,” Olheiser said. “We’re really excited to get together.”

Many of the classes are expected to participate in the Dickinson parade this morning.

DeAnn Scheeler, organizer for the first reunion of the class of 1999, said about half of the classes 60 students are attending the festivities, which began Friday with a picnic and outdoor gathering.

“It was definitely interesting to see (my classmates),” Scheeler said. “There were a lot of people from out of town and I noticed there were a lot of kids. I think everyone I saw that had kids had at least two.”

Scheeler said locating her classmates has been made easier.

“With technology it made it really easy,” Scheeler said. “I think I heard back from just about everyone. There were a couple people who were overseas and obviously they couldn’t come. In our class there were a lot of people that married from the area and there are a lot of us who were dating our spouses in high school.”

Trinity High School will be open for tours and will host an open house today from noon until 5 p.m.

At 10 a.m. Sunday, the class of 1969 is welcome to a Mass at Queen of Peace Parish. The class of 1999 is welcome at 4:30 p.m. today at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, according to Trinity reunion information.

Special petitions will be held for the class of 1999 and their families as well, Scheeler said.
