BAC lighting ceremony set for Sept. 8

Dickinson State will hold a lighting ceremony for the Badlands Activities Center at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8 to commemorate the first time the lights will be fully turned on and illuminating Fisher Field.

The event is free and open to the public. DSU President Dr. Richard McCallum will give opening and closing statements and will serve as the master of ceremonies for the event.

Speakers will including Dickinson Mayor Dennis Johnson, DSU Foundation Board President Linda Steve and DSU student body President Eli Turnbough.

Officials say the new lights will provide three times the illumination than at Whitney Stadium.

Following the ceremonies, attendees are invited to explore the field and the new artificial Sprinturf.

Guests are asked to enter the BAC area at the east gate on 13th Avenue West.
