As a member of the Slope Electric Cooperative, I have been taken aback by some of the criticism expressed in print and on air which has been directed toward the employees of the electrical cooperatives in Southwestern North Dakota.
I fully understand how frustrating it is to be without electricity; my family has been out of power since Jan. 22. However, I am confident that the employees of the cooperatives are working as hard as they can and as quickly as they can to restore power to the members.
I do hope the employees of the cooperatives realize the majority of the members are grateful for the work that they have been doing. I know the linemen in our cooperative have been putting in 12-hour days. While the weather has been uncooperative at best, the men continue to work when it is safe for them to be outside. I doubt most members would expect more than that.
