Roughrider Electric crews and contractors will restore power to the last few homes in Billings County that have been without power related to the ice storm, according to a press release.
A few new outages occurred overnight due to ice loading and power will be restored to those also. Several areas still have large amounts of ice on the powerlines and could still be damaged. The contractors will be released this afternoon and REC crews will continue working to restore power to accounts that are still out of power, like abandoned farms and stock wells.
With the new fallen snow, Roughrider Electric Cooperative urges snowmobilers and ATV operators to take extra caution when riding in power line right-of-ways. Snowmobilers and ATV operators should be on the lookout for broken pole stubs and other debris that may be partially covered by snow. Because the damage is widespread, some of the debris may not be collected until spring.
Updates will continue to be posted to www.thedickinsonpress.com as they are recieved.
