BISMARCK (AP) — A federal jury in Bismarck has convicted a Wilton man on charges that he illegally killed and kept a bald eagle in November 2008.
Acting U.S. Attorney Lynn Jordheim says 30-year-old Jesse Marchus also was convicted on weapons charges, including being a felon in possession of more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition.
Authorities say Marchus had been convicted earlier of burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Marchus faces up to 12 years in prison and $260,000 in fines when he is sentenced May 10.
