BISMARCK (AP) — A former airman at Minot Air Force Base has been sentenced to serve eight years and one month in federal prison on a child pornography charge.
Acting U.S. Attorney Lynn Jordheim says 26-year-old Michael L. Taylor pleaded guilty last November to a charge of possessing material involving the sexual exploitation of minors. Taylor will be on supervised release for 15 years following his prison term.
Jordheim says Taylor was caught in May 2008 by agents with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. Authorities say he had more than 10,000 computer images and videos.
The same Air Force agency investigated 26-year-old Brian Thoman, another former Minot airman who was sentenced this month to serve more than four years in federal prison. A spokeswoman for Jordheim says the two cases are not linked.
