The National Weather Service has announced a winter weather advisory for much of western and central North Dakota tonight through Thursday morning and up to 12 inches of snow is possible in the Dickinson area.
A mix of rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow is spreading across the area with all turning to snow at about midnight tonight, according to the service.
The southwest will get most of the snowfall with anywhere from 6 to 12 inches. This includes in Dickinson, Bowman, Hettinger, Amidon and Mott. Three to 6 inches is predicted in the Williston areas and south into Bismarck, according to the service.
