A Hebron woman was arrested early this morning for allegedly drinking and leaving a car at a railroad crossing. A train then struck the car, causing minor damage to the train, according to a North Dakota Highway Patrol press release.
No one was injured.
Patricia Olson, 33, allegedly abandoned her vehicle on a crossing at 36th Street, north of Highway 10, east of Richardton, according to the release. A short time later a BNSF train traveling east approached the crossing and hit the rear end of the car.
Damage to the train is about $4,000 and damage to the vehicle is estimated at $8,000, according to the release.
The incident occurred at about 2:15 this morning.
The car was pushed off the tracks and Olson was found shortly afterwards in the area.
