Firefighters respond to 2 incidents

Two fires were reported in Stark County on Thursday, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

A resident east of Richardton was trying to burn a tree stump when the fire spread, Sheriff Clarence Tuhy said Friday. Burning garbage at a resident’s property near Taylor also got out of control and burned a few acres.

Nobody was injured in either incident and no structures were damaged, he added

The area was under a red flag warning Friday, according to the National Weather Service. A fire weather advisory is in effect for northwest and north central portions of the state until this evening.
