MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak is encouraging people to wear their Twins gear to work on Monday to support the Minnesota team as it holds its home opener at Target Field.
Rybak says whether people are attending the game or cheering on the team from elsewhere, the excitement of the home opener will be felt throughout downtown Minneapolis.
City officials are also encouraging people who are heading downtown for the game, work or other entertainment to take advantage of transit, biking or walking on game days. Motorists could see heavy traffic in the areas near the new ballpark.
Monday's home opener against the Boston Red Sox starts at 3:10 p.m. at Target Field.
