Your assistance is needed by April 30 to help Dickinson have a complete census count.
As Dickinson and southwestern North Dakota continues to grow, an accurate count guarantees real dollars for our roads, hospitals, schools, senior services, emergency services, community improvements and much more.
An accurate count also paints a true picture for businesses wanting to locate in our area — all sources of new jobs and opportunities. The number of representatives we have in government is also based on census data.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Web site, www.2010census.gov, Dickinson’s mail-back rate as of Tuesday was 79 percent. That means 21 percent of our residents need to complete and return their 2010 census form by April 30.
You are encouraged to do the following if you have not received a census form: 1. Go to a Be Counted Site to obtain and complete the form. Be Counted Sites are located at the Chamber of Commerce, Frankie’s West Side Conoco, and Senior Citizens Center until Monday. 2. Call 1-800-872-6868 and give your information to the U.S. Census Bureau over the phone. 3. Contact Stark Development Corp. at 701-225-5997 for additional questions.
Thank you for being counted and for making a difference for our community. Every person counted makes a positive impact on the health of Dickinson.
