This is in response to Sen. Dorgan, Sen. Conrad and Rep. Pomeroy’s article about the health care bill that they so proudly voted for.
First of all, how can something this important be voted for without reading it? It was another bill passed by the Democrats without reading it first. Nancey Pelosi said, “We’ve got to hurry and pass this bill so we can see what’s in it.”
Our congressmen said the new health care bill was going to clamp down on abusive practices by insurance companies, such as jacking up premiums.
Well, guess what? We just got a notice from Blue Cross Blue Shield that our premium is going up May 1 by $100 more a month.
Our congressmen said that the health care bill will reduce the federal deficit by nearly $1.3 trillion in the following decade.
Sounds good.
But what they didn’t tell you is that our federal debt is nearly $13 trillion.
So, do the math.
And the Democrats have more programs that they want to pass while they can in power. And in another 10 years the deficit is suppose to increase by another $10 trillion.
So, wake up North Dakota citizens because we the people and taxpayers are going to be paying and so will our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Yes, we did need health care reform but not this bill. Our congressmen sold us out so they could vote along party lines.
