WILLISTON (AP) — Authorities say a man was injured when an oil tank exploded in McKenzie County, in western North Dakota’s oil patch.
Landtech Enterprises owner Mark Johnsrud says the worker was transported to a Minneapolis-area burn center. The man was not identified.
Four oil tanks owned by Landtech Enterprises were destroyed in the blast and ensuing fire that lasted for hours Wednesday afternoon. Smoke could be seen for miles.
The blast occurred near Alexander, about 15 miles south of Williston along U.S. Highway 85. Johnsrud says the cause is being investigated.
