BISMARCK (AP) — A Mandan businessman has been accused of violating new state restrictions on the sales of powder and herbs that mimic the effects of methamphetamine and marijuana.

William Nickel faces one count of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. He posted $20,000 bond following Friday’s court hearing.

Authorities say Nickel intended to deliver incense and bath salts containing chemicals similar to marijuana.

Nickel is a co-owner of Big Willies, which had sold the products before the state Board of Pharmacy endorsed restrictions on their sale in February.

No number was listed for Nickel in Mandan.

Nickel faces up to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine in convicted.
