Four Dickinson City Commission candidates will be vying for two open positions in June and will answer residents’ questions during a forum slated for Tuesday.
All four candidates — Klayton Oltmanns, Bernie Marsh, Shirley Dukart and Rod Landblom — have been confirmed for the City Commission Candidate Forum, which will involve questions submitted in writing by the audience or prior to the debate, said Lexi Sebastian, Dickinson Chamber of Commerce executive director.
The event is open to the public and is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. at Dickinson City Hall.
“It’s important that we know what’s on the public mind as far as their concerns,” Sebastian said. “If they’re able to ask those questions before they place their votes, this would be a great opportunity to be able to do that.”
The format will include a three-minute opening statement by each candidate, two-minute maximum response to each question, and a two-minute closing statement by each of the candidates.
The event will be moderated by Dickinson Press Publisher Harvey Brock.
The only issue that will appear on the primary election ballots will be whether the Stark County Commission should petition the U.S. Department of Transportation to place Stark County in Central Standard Time.
Anyone interested in submitting questions for the event can call the Chamber at 701-225-5115 or e-mail email@example.com.
Questions will be accepted at the Chamber until 4 p.m. Monday.
