Driver's name released in Morton County fatal

Forty-year-old Jonathan David Sprecher, Carson, died after going off the road at about 1 this morning in Morton County, according to a press release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred about a mile north of Mandan on Highway 1806 when the driver went off the right shoulder, overcorrected to the left, skidded across the road into the northwest ditch, where the vehicle rolled, according to the Highway Patrol.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the driver’s side window. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 2001 Chevrolet truck is totaled, according to the report.

The incident is under investigation.
