BISMARCK (AP) — Gov. John Hoeven’s office says the body of Art Link will lie in state in the Capitol’s Memorial Hall on Friday.
Members of the public can pay their respects from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to the former North Dakota governor, congressman and state legislator who died Tuesday at age 96.
A processional carrying Link’s body will leave the Parkway Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Friday and arrive at the Capitol about 15 minutes later. The North Dakota National Guard Military Funeral Honors team will carry the casket up the front steps of the Capitol and into Memorial Hall for the public viewing.
Link’s funeral is scheduled Saturday, with burial in Alexander on Sunday. The burial initially was scheduled for Monday but family spokesman Bob Valeu (vuh-LOO’) said Thursday that the plan had changed.
