Scattered thunderstorms are expected in western North Dakota early this evening and will spread east, according to the National Weather Service.

Severe storms are possible, especially west of a line from Minot to Bismarck.
The main threat is large hail, over 1 inch in diameter and wind gusts over 60 mph, according to the service. A tornado cannot be ruled out, especially before 10 p.m.
This advisory includes Dunn, Stark, Golden Valley, Billings, Slope, Hettinger, Adams and Bowman counties, among a number of others.
