An official with the Dickinson Police Department said Thursday that rumors circulating town of a reported attempted kidnapping Wednesday are unfounded.
DPD Capt. Joe Cianni said a suspicious person report was filed regarding a 9-year-old’s encounter with a person reportedly driving a Chevrolet El Camino, but he is unsure how news of an attempted kidnapping stemmed from the incident.
“We had a number of calls on it yesterday and we were telling the public there was no report of an attempted abduction,” Cianni said.
