I want to thank the four legislators from North Dakota for asking for a special session.
I think it is important to get the conversation moving on the needs of the west. We are clearly having problems with our roadways and infrastructure and do not want to wait until the next session.
We all understand that the Legislature meets in January, but there are problems right now and an entire summer ahead. Construction will not stop on account of good weather, so why should our legislators, especially when they have the chance to do some much-needed immediate good.
Despite Gov. Hoeven dismissing their request, I applaud these four and hope other senators look to their leadership in the upcoming legislative session.
