The Dickinson Catholic Schools are celebrating the football season with “A Tailgate Party” as the theme of its 10th annual Fall Gala Dinner and Auction.

The Fall Gala is Sunday, Oct. 3, at the Dickinson Elks Lodge. The social hour starts at 4:30 p.m., with dinner and auction to follow. There also will be games and a raffle.

“It’s open to everyone who wants a great meal and a fun and exciting evening,” said dinner committee member Brenda Erie. “It’s to support the Catholic schools. You don’t have to be a Catholic or a member of the school to come.”

The menu includes hors d’oeuvres, Grid Iron ribeye, Corn Husker’s roasted corn, twice-baked potatoes, fruit and apple dumplings.

The auction items include Vikings tickets, University of North Dakota hockey tickets, a pheasant hunt with bed and breakfast, a custom-made fishing pole, shotgun and golf passes.

The co-chairwomen are Lisa Kessel and Deanna Jilek.

“There are many, many parents involved — it’s a combination of many hours of work by volunteer parents and students who pull it all together,” said Kessel. “I want to give credit to everyone who helped.”

Several parents are helping coordinate the classroom projects for the silent auction. These items were produced and donated by the parent volunteers, local businesses and students. The entertainment is provided by Trinity High School students and the Fine Arts Department.

“There’s a competition between past and present Trinity football players and the high school Drumline with perform,” said Kessel.

With a tailgate theme, Kessel said dress is business casual, or this year, some may chose to wear their favorite team’s attire.

“It’s a major fundraiser for the Dickinson Catholic Schools,” she said. “Its intent is not just to raise money. It’s a fun night out for parents, grandparents, staff and friends of the Dickinson Catholic Schools.”

For ticket, visit any Dickinson Catholic school or the website, www.trinityhighschool.com. Tickets are $50 each and must be purchased in advance.
