The National Park Service is offering free admission to parks throughout the country, including Theodore Roosevelt National Park in western North Dakota, today in commemoration of Veterans Day.
“It is important to remember our veterans, including Colonel Theodore Roosevelt, and what they have done for our country,” said Superintendent Valerie Naylor. “Spending the day visiting a national park to celebrate our nation’s heritage is a wonderful way to honor our veterans.”
The other two national park units in North Dakota — Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site near Williston and Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site near Stanton — are among the more than 200 national parks that never charge entrance fees.
