Commission approves rezoning for gas plant

Whiting Oil and Gas Corp. wants to construct a gas plant by September.
The commission agreed with the recommendation from the Stark County Zoning Board to approve rezoning from agricultural to industrial.
However, the motion is subject to Whiting Oil obtaining all necessary permits and they must also enter a road agreement with the Stark County Road Department.
The Stark County Zoning Board conducted a public hearing on the matter Monday and recommended the commission approve the rezone.
“There was no opposition at all,” Commissioner Russ Hoff said.
