Letter: So much Arizona publicity, so many others ignored

Recently, there’s been much publicity on the shootings in Tucson, Ariz. I’m wondering why this is considered such a tragedy by the media but other killings are ignored?

I’m referring to the innocent human lives of the unborn who are denied the life planned for them by God, their creator. Since Jan. 22, 1973, there have been over 50 million precious lives lost to this legalized killing in the United States.

There are about 3,700 babies slaughtered daily in our country. In North Dakota there are 20-30 unborn babies killed weekly in Fargo. What kind of message are we sending to our youth when we say it is legal to kill their brothers and sisters?

If a country makes laws consistent with God’s laws, that is, the Ten Commandments, it will remain a great country. There are many things going wrong in this once great country of ours. This is a result of what happens when we mock God’s divine laws and attempt to separate him from our lives.

Do we really except God to continue showering his blessings on our families and country if we mock his divine law of “thou shalt not kill?” Let’s work and pray to rid our state and country of this atrocity of abortion. May God have mercy on us if we don’t.
