BISMARCK—North Dakota lawmakers are recommending “do not pass” for a bill that would ban smoking with kids in the car.
The House Transportation Committee voted 9-5 against the bill.
A group of Williston and Bismarck students recently voiced their support for the proposed law.
It would ban smoking in vehicles if children younger than 13 are present, even if a window is rolled down. The proposed fine is $50.
The bill will now go to a full vote in the House.
