Montana’s Qvale earns 4th Big Sky POW award
HELENA, Mont. — Montana center Brian Qvale has been named the Big Sky Conference men’s basketball player of the week for the third consecutive week and the fourth time this season.
HELENA, Mont. — Montana center Brian Qvale has been named the Big Sky Conference men’s basketball player of the week for the third consecutive week and the fourth time this season.
The 6-foot-11 senior from Williston, scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Montana’s 79-58 win over rival Montana State on Saturday.
Qvale made 10 of 13 shots from the field and 6 of 8 free throw attempts. He also added two blocks and an assist.
During Montana’s current six-game winning streak, Qvale is averaging 19.1 points, 12.3 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game. He is also shooting 61.5 percent from the floor.
Qvale is the Big Sky’s all-time leader with 218 blocks. Qvale ranks ninth in the nation in blocks per game and field goal percentage.
