Miners defeat Titans for District 14 title
HAZEN — Sparked by Trevor Zacher’s game-high 28 points, No. 2 seed Beulah knocked off No. 1 seed Dickinson Trinity Monday night in the District 14 Championship game.

For the second consecutive season, the Miners beat the Titans for the district title. This time, Beulah won 63-47.
“They deserved to win this game,” Trinity head coach Gregg Grinsteinner said. “At times we were aggressive and other times we weren’t. … They (Beulah) played aggressive the whole game.”
Alex Klug had a team-high 17 points to lead the Titans while Isiah Binstock chipped in 16 points and had five rebounds and four assists.
The Miners led 29-22 at halftime, were up 47-38 after the third quarter and held Trinity to just nine fourth-quarter points.
“We had opportunities,” Grinsteinner said. “We just quit going to what we had success with in the first half.
Dustin Rueb added 13 points and Leighton Guthmiller had eight for the Miners.
Trinity committed 19 turnovers to just nine by Beulah.
Beulah will face District 13 No. 4 seed Hettinger at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21 in the Region 7 tournament quarterfinals at Knights of Columbus Activities Center in Dickinson. The Titans will face District 13 third-place finisher Mott-Regent, which entered its tournament with the No. 1 seed, at 7:30 p.m.

Austyn Sadowsky scored a game-high 21 points as he led third-seeded Killdeer past fifth-seeded Richardton-Taylor in a region-qualifier game.
Lane Voltz had 15 points for the Raiders while Chad Gullickson and Jarret Naumann each added 10.
Brodie Candrain knocked down three 3-pointers as he finished with 13 and Colt Mavity had 14 points and one three-pointer.
The Cowboys held a 22-19 lead at halftime, before they outscored the Raiders in the second half 39-25.
Killdeer will take the No. 3 seed into the Region 7 tournament and face District 13 runner-up Heart River at 4:30 p.m.

Alex Volk and the fourth-seeded Bison used a big second half to take down the sixth-seeded Bearcats in a region-qualifier game.
Volk had a game-high 25 points while Stetson Carr added 17 and Collin Lindquist had 11.
Jalen Schaaf had a team high 22 points for the Bearcats, as he knocked down three 3-pointers while Cole Schlatter added 11 points.
Hazen overcame a two point first quarter deficit to lead 37-31 at the break and scored 21 in the third quarter to open up a 58-42 lead going into the fourth quarter.
