Beach’s Weinreis chooses Bismarck State
BISMARCK — The third member of the Beach girls basketball team’s Big Three has decided where she’ll play her college ball.
BISMARCK — The third member of the Beach girls basketball team’s Big Three has decided where she’ll play her college ball.
Abby Weinreis, a 5-foot-7 guard, has signed a letter of intent to play for the Bismarck State women’s basketball team next season.
Weinreis averaged 14 points, 3.5 steals and 3 assists per game last season while helping Beach to a fifth-place finish at the Class B state tournament.
The Buccaneers won the 2010 state championship.
Weinreis was named to the Class B all-state second team as a senior. She was a four-year starter and three-time all-Region 7 selection.
Weinreis had also been heavily recruited by Dickinson State throughout her senior season.
Weinreis’ Buccaneer teammates, Brittney Dietz and Jill Rising, have both signed national letters of intent to play at the University of Mary.
