The Black Devils scored runs in the second and third innings to get past Washburn-Wilton-Center-Stanton 2-1 on Tuesday in the Region 8 tournament semifinals.
Chad Mosbrucker and Caleb Larson each went 2-for-3 for Hettinger.
Sam Goos had an RBI single in the second for the Cardinals.
Hettinger plays for the title at 4:30 p.m. today against the winner of a loser-out game between WWCS and Shiloh Christian.
