Dickinson High named Jess Herauf and Nate Moody its female and male senior athletes of the year at its annual athletic banquet held last week.

Herauf lettered in volleyball, basketball and track and field. She was Class A all-state in volleyball and North Dakota’s Gatorade Athlete of the Year. She was a Class A all-state second team selection in basketball. In track and field, she was named West Region and Class A senior athlete of the year. She won state titles in the javelin and 100-meter hurdles.

Moody lettered in football, basketball and track and field. He was a Class AAA all-state first team selection in football, an all-West Region pick in basketball and finished the track and field season as the Dickinson boys’ top point-earner at the state meet with a runner-up finish in the long jump.

Herauf plans to attend the University of Minnesota and be on the track and field team. Moody plans to attend North Dakota State and play football.
