Highway 85 to open Saturday afternoon; had closed due to debris
Highway 85 will reopen at about 2 p.m. today, 16 miles south of Watford City,
Highway 85 will reopen at about 2 p.m. today, 16 miles south of Watford City, after being closed Friday from dirt and debris covering the road.
The road had been experiencing delays due to flooding and shifting before Friday's debris slide that covered the road, making it unusable.
North Dakota Highway 22 is closed north of Killdeer because of shifting due to wet ground and weather, as well. Highway 85 was serving as a detour for Highway 22.
The North Dakota Department of Transportation and North Dakota Highway Patrol announced the opening.
