Rodeo clown Syd McFarland retreats from his sparking “fire engine” on Thursday night during the opening performance of the Roughrider Days Rodeo at the Dickinson State Outdoor Arena. McFarland, from Montgomery, Ala., is the entertainer for the three-day rodeo, which continues today at 6:30 p.m.
