Thunderstorm suspends Central Plains Regional during Mandan game

A severe thunderstorm warning for Stark County has suspended the third game of the Central Plains Regional American Legion baseball tournament on Thursday due to the possibility of lightning.

North Dakota champion Mandan leads South Dakota champion Sioux Falls (S.D.) 7-5 after 6 1/2 innings completed.

Dickinson was originally scheduled to play Carroll County, Iowa, at approximately 8 p.m. That start time has been pushed back to about 9 p.m. depending on weather.

Home plate has been covered in preparation for the expected rain.
