Three people were injured and taken to the hospital Thursday night after bleachers fell on them in strong winds, Golden Valley County Emergency Manager Brenda Frieze said.
The injured were setting up bleachers for the Texaco Country Showdown when a storm producing 70 mph-plus winds blew in.
It caused other damage around town, as well, Frieze said.
The roof of a building was taken off, a trampoline was damaged, along with many trees, Frieze said.
The Showdown, which is tonight, has since been moved to Home on the Range.
It will be held indoors either in the gym or the arena, Prairie West Development Foundation Executive Director Debra Walworth said.
Walworth could not comment on the incident.
The Showdown is designed to find local talent and give them a chance to launch their professional music careers. Winners advance to state competitions.
